Broccoli is a nutritional powerhouse.  It is rich in dietary fiber, minerals, vitamins, and anti-oxidants that have proven health benefits.

Carrots – Adelaide

Garden picked carrots are a true treat. Full of flavour and vitamins, these carrots are sold with their tops on to accentuate their freshness.  They get sweeter as the weather cools in the fall.

Cauliflower

These beautiful white heads are brimming with essential nutrients, and can be prepared and served in a wide variety of ways, including raw, sautéed, roasted, boiled or even mashed.

Celery

The flavour is sweet while the stalks are tender and less fibrous.

Cilantro

Full, bulky herb, great for accenting Thai or Mexican dishes.

Cucumber

Distinctly tender, crisp, sweet, bitter-free, and seedless english cucumbers and small seedless, dark green snack cucumbers. Excellent flavour.

Dill

Edible seeds and greens flavour many foods. A popular addition to sauces and a must for making pickles.

Eggplant

This Dark purple, glossy vegetable is also known as aubergines in other parts of the world.  It can be served baked or grilled.

Garlic

Loved all over the world for its wonderful flavour, garlic can be used in a wide variety of dishes.  Our garlic is sold by the head and has white-purple skin.

Green Onion

Dark green tops with bright white shanks.  Also know as scallions, they can be sprinkled over soup, tossed into salads, fried with rice or added to sandwiches.

Hakurei Turnip

These mini turnips are delicious raw, and can be added to salads or coleslaws together with thinly sliced apples.  Their sweetness increases when roasted at high temperatures. The turnip tops are also tasty when quickly sautéed with garlic in olive oil.

Kale

Kale is a true superfood and is packed with antioxidants, vitamins and other minerals.  Used in salads, stir-fries, smoothies and in many other creative ways. Leaves are dark blue-green and ruffled.

Leek

Pleasant, mild, sweet onion flavour, leeks are often used raw in salads or cooked in stir-fries, soups and stews.

Lettuce Heads

A customer favourite of New Leaf Market Garden.  Many varieties to choose from including Romaine, Butterhead (Boston/Bibb) and large heads of leaf lettuce, both red and green.

Lettuce Heads (Mini Romaine)

Beautiful red or green mini-romaine lettuce originating in Europe. Leaves are thick and have an excellent, crisp texture.  Perfect for those looking for smaller proportions.

Lettuce (Salad Mix)

New Leaf Market Garden offers high quality bags of salad mix.  A customer favourite.  Depending on the time of year, the salad mix is also enhanced with baby beet greens, arugula, baby kale, mustard greens, or baby spinach.

Mustard Greens

Adds colour and texture to your salad mixes. Spicy, dark red varieties, as well as traditional dark green milder varieties.

Onion

Yellows onions great for long-term storage, as well as large, mild white onions and superior coloured red onions.

Parsley

A very versatile herb, parsley can be added to a variety of soups, stews and sauces, or it can be used as a garnish to bring added pop.

Peppers (Lunch Box Mix)

Red, yellow, and orange Lunchbox snack peppers. These beautiful, mini-sized peppers are remarkably sweet and flavorful. They are delicious sautéed, as an addition to salads and, of course, perfect for a healthy snack.

Peppers (Bell)

Excellent medium sized red peppers, along with pleasant, sweet, and crisp bright orange peppers.

Peppers (Hot)

The classic hot banana pepper. Easy to stuff and to peel after roasting; thick-fleshed for frying. Its sunset-ripening peppers change from yellow to orange to red and make the prettiest pickled peppers.

Peppers (Jalapeno)

Authentic jalapeno flavour with more heat than the grocery store.  Perfect for stuffing.

Pumpkin

The dark orange colour and strong handles make it great for decorations.  Can also be baked into a sweet, smooth pie filling.

Radish

The smooth, dark-red roots are remarkably uniform and attractive with crisp, white flesh.

Snap Peas

Both the pods and the peas are delicious.  Can be eaten raw as a snack, added to stir-fries, or cooked in a variety of ways.  These fresh peas taste unlike anything you can find at the grocery store.

Spinach

Spinach is one of the amazing leafy green vegetables that is known for its nutritional value, including its antioxidants and anti-cancer benefits. Its tender, crispy, dark-green leaves are a favourite in kitchens.  An excellent source of Iron.

Squash (Butternut)

Delicious in both savory as well as a sweet dishes. It can be used in a variety of delicious recipes as baked, stuffed, or stir-fried.

Tomato

Fresh, garden grown tomatoes are one of the main reasons customers head to farmers markets each week.  New Leaf Market Garden offers red, yellow, and black heirloom tomatoes, as well as large slicing and roma varieties.   Our customers also love our sweet red cherry tomatoes, which they call our candy tomatoes.

Zucchini

The dark green skin contains high levels of lutein, a highly effective antioxidant. Perfect sauteed, raw or in a muffin.
